Cooling Tower Chill Water Tests

Maintaining the proper chill water additives keeps the pH and reserve alkalinity at a proper level to prevent micro-organisms from growing that can cause corrosion, reduce heat exchange efficiency and reduce water flow.

Spectrochemical analysis provides additive and corrosion element levels. Maintaining the proper freeze point reduces tube freeze up and breakage.

Test Purpose
Appearance Visual Inspection for debris or contaminants
Color Color change or mixture of products
Freeze Point Maintain proper glycol level if in service
pH Prevents micro-organism growth
Spectrochemical Analysis (21 elements) Provides treatment additive levels and presence of corrosion material
Glycol (%) Maintain proper freeze point if required
Reserve Alkalinity Prevents corrosion
