Natural Gas Engines

Routine oil analysis will pinpoint small problems before they become catastrophic failures and extend oil, filter and engine life – all of which reduce maintenance, repair and replacement costs.

High operating temperatures and lean operating engine designs make oxidation the most common issue in maintaining optimum performance from natural gas engines. Oil analysis can identify oil degradation that can result in the engine oil thickening and creating deposits on critical internal components and allow the formation of acids that can corrode bearings. Proper monitoring of oil condition should include tests for oxidation, viscosity, total acid number and wear metals.
